I was recently fortuante to get a sneak peek of a very relaxing new spot for fashionistas to hang out and chat. ‘Le Chatz Cafe’ is the brainchild of Khali Laguna and, with the very generous assistance of Ayesha Bisiani (Skin Within), she created this very comfy gathering spot in a skybox above Skin Within.
The whole thing has been sumptiously decorated, including chairs with single and couples poseballs, plush rugs and even a water feature!! The landmark was misbehaving the day I had my tour, but just check with Khali Laguna in world if you want to hang out there and chat some time.
To everyone who helped with, donated to and bid at The Team THREAD RFL Red Carpet Gala Auction on Thursday night… I send a HUGE THANK YOU from Team THREAD, The Cafe Society and Hi-Flo, The Hidden Jewel!!! The auction sales were a whopping L$157,562 and additional donations to the RFL kiosks on site brought the overall total close to L$160,000!!!
The hottest item of the night were the Stiletto Moody Elegant Slingback (Teal) Limited Edition shoes, which soared to L$52,000 before bidding closed!! It is suspected that these may now be THE most expensive pair of shoes in SL, but more importantly, they have helped the Relay for Life in SL cause emensely.
There were two other very interesting bidding wars… one on a Hugging Panda
which sold for L$10,702 and the other on a Romantic Evening on Dolphin’s Reef
with all the trimmings, which sold for L$15,001!! The creators of each of those were blown away! Thank you again everyone!!

The RFL Red Carpet Gala Auction

So… I showed a friend (Bex.. haha) a sample of a necklace I was working on, which she suggested I make into a sculpture to submit to the SL5B (SL 5th Birthday) Exhibition. Well, I did and they accepted it.. Haha.. it now has a wacky gallery thing around it.. as you can see in the picture.
I called the jewelry set and the sculpture Cosmology because all the wild colours and shapes in it made me think of the cosmos and northern lights and crazy things like that. When it came time to create a ‘gallery’ for it.. a simple rectangular box just didn’t seem right. I opted for something I hope reminds people of comet’s tail. This was all done in fun, so I hope it is received the same way.
The SL5B Exhibition covers several sims and runs for two weeks. I have SLURLs for two of the exhibit areas… to get you started.
